About The Position

Develop business relationships to ensure employment opportunities for clients. Facilitate client placement and retention in vocational settings. Provide counseling and support for clients to obtain and sustain social services. Advocate on behalf of clients.

Requirements

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • 6 months of experience in a service-oriented environment, ideally in job development.
  • Above average interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Proficiency in using office equipment (copier, fax, calculator, telephone system).
  • Ability to organize tasks, record and produce accurate work.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment.
  • Periodic travel to various intrastate sites, potentially involving overnight stays.
  • Valid driver's license, current automotive insurance, and dependable transportation.
  • Availability to operate a vehicle during day/night.
  • First Aid/CPR Training (required, including compressions on the floor or ground).
  • Willingness to work schedules based on individual client needs and overtime as required.
  • Expected to learn and follow the Individual Plan (IP) of clients.
  • Criminal Background free of encumbrances identified by the State of Oklahoma Health Department.
  • Mentally and physically capable to perform the duties of the position.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Review, determine, and coordinate necessary services for client social/vocational integration, including interviewing, evaluating needs, formulating treatment plans, and arranging or carrying out treatment.
  • Develop client-specific jobs by matching client skills to career paths and soliciting employers for hiring.
  • Assist employers with training issues, including suggesting or arranging for adaptive devices, mentoring, or other necessary instruction to complement job training.
  • Develop and utilize natural supports (transportation, human support systems) to ensure vocational success and client socialization.
  • Complete all documentation for billing, including job success plans, situational assessments, benefits analysis, and disciplinary analysis.
  • Interpret and implement DRS and HOH contracts and performance requirements, staying current with regulatory developments.
  • Assist clients in achieving maximum potential and self-determination.
