About The Position

The Job Coach's purpose is to remove barriers to success for Special Population Students by expanding opportunities for employment and economic self-sufficiency. This role involves developing informational materials for employers and students, forging partnerships with local businesses to create work-based learning opportunities, and actively coaching students to develop the skills necessary for competitive employment.

Requirements

Work Experience Required
Valid Driver's License in good standing required
Self-motivated and detail-oriented
Reliable, responsible, and willing to help others
Ability to work with students with disabilities
Good communication skills

Nice To Haves

College Degree in Education preferred

Responsibilities

Develop Information Documents that include mission, purpose, and benefits of Work-Based Learning for Employers
Develop Information Documents that include mission, purpose, and benefits for students
Develop partnerships with area businesses to provide approved worksites for students
Engage students with area businesses by providing coaching, feedback, and demonstration of skill development tasks
Participate in the process of matching individuals to employment or vocational opportunities
Meet with employers to develop potential work opportunities
Ensure students are appropriately groomed and attired for employment of task assignment
Provide constructive feedback to students regarding plan goals, community employer expectations, and development of skills to obtain and maintain competitive employment
Deliver work adjustment training to assist employed students to improve work skills, work behaviors, interpersonal skills, and ethics to maintain employment
Promote communication with community contacts, community work site co-workers, local agencies, and state offices
Assist in accurate completion of required documentation for DRS reimbursement
