Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Valid PA Driver's License
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively pivot to other responsibilities, if a planned job changes for a day
  • Good writing skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students and teachers.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build rapport and work effectively with a diverse population
  • Must be a self-starter who can work independently and carry tasks through to completion.
  • Ability to create and implement individualized action plans and track progress towards goals.
  • Passion for helping others and a commitment to making a difference in the lives of those we serve
  • Proficiency in MS-Word is necessary
  • Background clearances required - Clear records of Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check (PATCH), Pennsylvania Child Abuse History, and Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Background Fingerprint Check as required under Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Act 153 of 2014 (at least 1 year old.) As well as attendance at a Protecting God's Children class and Mandated Reporter Training.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with MS Office Suite is a plus.
  • Previous experience working with children with special needs (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one job coaching and support to individuals with disabilities or other barriers to employment
  • Initiate proactive and timely communication with Job Works Partners, Lead Job Coach, Principle and Teachers
  • Set an excellent example of the highest level of integrity and character for our students, staff, and Mercy families
  • Assist individuals with resume writing, job search, and interview preparation
  • Conduct skills assessments and job analysis to determine individual strengths and needs
  • Develop and implement individualized action plans to support job readiness and success
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, community organizations, agencies to secure job placements and support ongoing career development
  • Provide ongoing follow-up and support to ensure job satisfaction and retention
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Lead Job Coach or Principal
