The Job Coach position at Marlborough High School supports special education teachers and related staff in developing prerequisite skills for job placement. This role involves assisting special education students, both individually and in groups, in acquiring pre-employment skills and reinforcing skills to increase their independence. The Job Coach will collaborate with community businesses and organizations to maintain community-based vocational opportunities for students, accompany students into the community for training in vocational and social skills, and monitor student performance in various work settings. Responsibilities also include maintaining daily logs on student performance, assisting with activities of daily living as necessary (toileting, dressing, and transferring), driving a school van to job sites, and offering input to the Individual Education Plan (IEP) for each student. The role ensures compliance with labor laws and student safety, and performs other duties as assigned by the Educational Team Leader, special education staff, and policies of the Marlborough School Committee.
