This role involves supporting an individual at their place of employment by providing guidance, encouragement, and the necessary support to help them confidently navigate their workday. The Job Coach may assist with learning new tasks, understanding workplace routines, communicating with coworkers, staying organized, or problem-solving. The primary goal is to encourage independence and build confidence, gradually helping the individual perform more tasks on their own, while respecting their role as an employee. The Job Coach is not there to do the job for the client but to help them succeed in doing it themselves. The role requires using a personal vehicle to transport the individual being supported, with mileage reimbursement for approved work-related travel at the current IRS rate. The Supported Employment (SE) Program aims to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities build confidence, independence, and meaningful careers through personalized 1:1 or 1:3 support, on-the-job coaching in integrated community workplaces, career development assistance (exploration, resume building, interview preparation, job placement, workplace skills), and building connections with local employers. The program is CARF-certified and committed to safety, quality, and individualized support.
