About The Position

Under the direction of the Director of High School Programs, the Job and Work Readiness Program Coordinator develops and monitors Youth Development Division (YDD) Job and Work Readiness program goals, objectives and budgets. The coordinator serves as a point of contact for CBOs. In addition, they assist in tracking and evaluating program effectiveness through analyzing program data and completing state and local grant reporting. Requirements

  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Knowledge of basic accounting and budgeting principles
  • Knowledge of at-risk students and their needs
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and listening)
  • Demonstrated organizational skills prioritizing and assigning work
  • Ability to work independently, problem solve, self-manage, and collaborate as a member of a team to achieve tangible outcomes
  • Bicultural/multicultural skills sufficient to select appropriate behaviors, values and attitudes within different cultures during interactions with others
  • Six (6) years of full-time work experience that reflects the knowledge, skills and experience to perform the essential functions listed above
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Liberal Arts or any degree in a related field and two (2) years of full-time work experience which reflects the knowledge, skills and experience to perform the essential functions listed above.
  • Education equivalency will not apply to one (1) year of the full-time work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit and select students to participate in the Job and Work Readiness grant–funded program
  • Develop and expand community-based experiential training sites in partnership with community
  • Establish and maintain formal partnerships with community-based organizations (CBOs)
  • Collaborate with Chemeketa programs/departments and community partners to align program activities with training and workforce needs
  • Advertise and market the program to increase student awareness and participation
  • Coordinate program implementation, ensuring compliance with Job and Work Readiness grant requirements
  • Track and document grant-related data, including student participation and program outcomes
  • Conduct surveys, follow-up activities, and data collection to assess program effectiveness
  • Prepare and submit required reports to the Youth Development Division (YDD) and other stakeholders
  • Assist in aligning program activities with budgetary needs in accordance with grant guidelines
  • Provide youth with individualized support, resource navigation, and personalized guidance develop a tailored plan to meet the student needs
  • Administers strength-based career exploration assessments and works with students to interpret and utilize the assessment outcomes
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for community-based organizations (CBOs) and other external partners
  • Represents the program at regular community partner meetings to develop and maintain a referral network with social service agencies and programs
  • Collaborates with Career and Technical Education (CTE) faculty, deans, directors, Admissions, Advising, College Access Programs, and student services staff to support student enrollment and retention
  • Develops marketing materials and delivers presentations to prospective students, community organizations, and on-campus partners regarding program services, qualifications, and expectations
  • Builds and strengthens partnerships with CBOs in alignment with the Youth Development Division (YDD)
  • Collaborates with advisors and community partners to ensure alignment of training opportunities with workforce and student needs
  • Collaborate with Academic Development Program staff, advisors, and other college departments to create an atmosphere supportive of students and their transitions
  • Participate in the annual planning process and evaluation of program services
  • Embraces diversity and actively collaborates effectively with a variety of students, staff and the public from diverse cultural, social, economic and educational backgrounds
  • Participates in recruitment and retention of students at an individual and institutional level in promotion of student success
  • Embraces, understands and uses appropriate technology tools to accomplish job functions
  • Provides high quality, effective service to internal and external customers through continuous improvement and adoption of lean office practices
