About The Position

The Enterprise Jira Platform Owner is responsible for the strategic administration, governance, and optimization of the organization's Jira ecosystem to support enterprise delivery, portfolio transparency, and execution discipline. This role serves as the system owner of Jira and related portfolio extensions (e.g., roadmapping, financial tracking, AI intake routing), ensuring the platform enables: Standardized Agile delivery practices - Integrated initiative intake (including AI governance routing) - Enterprise roadmap visibility - Portfolio-level reporting and executive decision support This position partners closely with the VP, EPMO to ensure Jira serves as the single source of truth for initiative execution and portfolio health across the organization.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of Jira administration in enterprise environments. Experience supporting multi-team Agile delivery models.
  • Atlassian Jira Administrator Certification.
  • Experience configuring Jira for portfolio-level reporting and roadmap visibility.
  • Strong understanding of Agile execution frameworks.
  • Experience in financial services or regulated environments.
  • Experience supporting Lean Portfolio Management or SAFe-like structures.
  • Experience integrating financial tracking tools within Jira ecosystems.
  • Ability to translate executive reporting needs into technical configurations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to operate independently while supporting enterprise governance.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the enterprise owner of Jira configuration and standards.
  • Establishes and enforces governance for project creation, workflows, issue types, screens, and permissions.
  • Maintains data integrity and consistency across pods and business units.
  • Manages plug-ins and integrations (e.g., Confluence, Tempo, financial tracking tools).
  • Coordinates upgrades and enhancements in alignment with governance standards.
  • Configures Jira to support standardized Scrum, Kanban, and hybrid models.
  • Maintains consistent sprint, backlog, and release tracking structures.
  • Designs templates for new pod/team onboarding.
  • Partners with Scrum Masters and Product Owners to ensure disciplined platform utilization.
  • Enables dependency tracking across pods.
  • Configures Jira to support the enterprise intake model.
  • Ensures intake forms properly route: AI-related initiatives to AI Committee review - Standard initiatives through EPMO governance
  • Maintains intake workflow logic and reporting structures.
  • Enables visibility into intake volume, cycle time, and prioritization status.
  • Configures roadmap and hierarchy structures supporting: Initiative - Capability - Feature roll-ups - Cross-team dependencies - Strategic alignment tagging
  • Maintains executive dashboards reflecting portfolio health.
  • Supports quarterly planning cycles and prioritization exercises.
  • Enables forward-looking capacity and roadmap forecasting.
  • Supports integration of financial tracking tools (e.g., Tempo or equivalent).
  • Ensures alignment between initiative IDs and portfolio reporting structures.
  • Enables cost, capacity, and effort visibility across initiatives.
  • Supports EPMO in maintaining accurate investment tracking.
  • Develops and maintain dashboards for: · Portfolio health · Initiative status - Agile performance metrics - Strategic priority alignment
  • Ensures reporting is accurate, timely, and aligned to executive needs.
  • Continuously improves data structures to enhance transparency
  • Analyzes platform utilization and recommend improvements.
  • Standardize Jira best practices across teams, documents configuration standards and procedures.
  • Provide training and guidance for end users.
  • Support scaling of Jira as the organization grows in complexity.
