About The Position

Set up and operate jig grinding machines to grind precision holes, contours, and surfaces. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications. Perform precision grinding operations to close tolerances and surface finish requirements. Select and install grinding wheels, tooling, fixtures, and attachments. Inspect finished parts using micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, optical comparators, and other precision measuring equipment. Verify dimensions and maintain accurate inspection records. Adjust machine settings, offsets, and feeds/speeds as needed. Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning. Troubleshoot machining and quality issues. Maintain safe and organized work areas. Follow company quality standards and safety procedures. Collaborate with machinists, toolmakers, engineers, and quality personnel.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience operating jig grinding or precision grinding equipment
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand geometric tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Strong knowledge of precision measuring instruments
  • Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

  • CNC jig grinding experience
  • Experience with Moore, Mitsui, or Hauser jig grinders
  • Knowledge of precision tooling and fixture manufacturing
  • Technical or vocational training in machining or manufacturing
