This role oversees all aspects of the Junior High Cheer Team, including tryouts, practices, and games. The coach is responsible for developing and executing an effective training program, motivating and mentoring student-athletes, and instructing them in fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training. A key aspect of the role is to guide student-athletes in developing moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline, and self-confidence. The coach will foster teamwork, discipline, respect, sportsmanship, and skills development, while ensuring the safety and well-being of the student-athletes. This position requires cooperation with the School Athletic Director and District Athletic Department, and adherence to all requirements mandated by the District Board of Education, OHSAA, and ODE, including specific training and certifications. The coach must also check the academic eligibility of student-athletes, follow District Athletic Department Policies, and model appropriate behavior.
