About The Position

Western States Envelope and Label Company, with over 115 years of experience, is a leading provider of high-quality envelopes, labels, and packaging. Our facility in Vadnais, Minnesota is seeking an experienced Jet Press Operator to join our team. This role involves operating and maintaining high-speed two-color Halm Jet printing presses.

Requirements

• Basic computer skills
• Strong math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
• Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of print quality standards and the ability to identify printing defects
• Ability to distinguish colors and identify print defects.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequently lift to 25 pounds; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk on concrete surfaces for the duration of a scheduled shift (8 hours).
• Must be able to frequently bend, reach, crouch, or stoop.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally from floor to waist and waist to shoulder.
• Constant repetitive grasping and fine motor manipulation of paper materials and machine components.
• Frequent twisting of the torso and lifting above shoulder height.
• Must possess tactile/touch sensitivity in hands and digits.
• Near and far visual acuity, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are required for quality control and safe machine operation.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run Halm Jet printing presses according to job specifications.
• Operate and monitor high-speed two-color Halm Jet presses to meet production goals.
• Load envelopes into press feeders while maintaining continuous production.
• Inspect and verify proper printing, labeling, packaging, and order accuracy to ensure quality standards are met.
• Maintain accurate counts of envelopes, boxes, cartons, and pallets.
• Remove paper jams and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues.
• Adjust ink and water roller pressures to maintain print quality.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company safety policies.
