The Jet Bridge Technician I is a developmental position within the Airport Maintenance Department at Washington Dulles International Airport. This role is responsible for the maintenance and repair of Passenger Boarding Bridges (PBB or Jet Bridges), Pre-Conditioned Air Units (PCAir), Ground Power Units (GPU), and other critical airport infrastructure and transportation systems. The incumbent will troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, and perform preventive maintenance on these assets. This position requires a commitment to training and development, with the goal of achieving Journey-level skills within 24 months, potentially leading to the Jet Bridge Technician II position. The role involves working with mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems, utilizing technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic equipment. The technician will also respond to emergency calls and document all maintenance activities in a computerized system.
