APPLICATION DEVELOPER

Atos•Phoenix, AZ

About The Position

Atos is hiring a Java SRE Developer to support Java/JVM applications and messaging services in production, including migration to a new aggregator and post-migration stabilization. The role involves technical troubleshooting, operational monitoring, migration readiness and coordination, vendor support, and eventual Syniverse decommissioning. The position is located in Phoenix, Arizona, and is full time. The developer will analyze messaging performance and delivery across markets and use cases, validate end-to-end messaging scenarios, maintain dashboards and alerts, coordinate vendor escalations, and document configurations and rollback plans. After migration, the role will verify that production traffic no longer reaches Syniverse, retain required historical data, remove obsolete configurations and certificates, and update operational support materials.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with Java/JVM-based applications and production troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on knowledge of REST APIs and API-based resource operations.
  • Experience supporting applications deployed on Kubernetes.
  • Working knowledge of Couchbase in a multi-cluster environment, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with Jenkins and XLR for CI/CD and deployment orchestration.
  • Strong observability experience using ELF, OpenTracing, and OpenTelemetry (OTEL).
  • Proficiency with Kibana and Elasticsearch for log analysis, troubleshooting, traffic analysis, and operational monitoring.
  • Understanding of certificate management, proxies, gateways, APIs, and production connectivity.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot Java/JVM-based applications and production connectivity issues.
  • Support applications deployed on Kubernetes and perform API-based resource operations using REST APIs.
  • Analyze messaging flows by market and use case, including traffic trends, TPS, latency, success rates, failure patterns, and pre- and post-migration comparisons.
  • Validate delivery receipts, SLA requirements, bounce and failure codes, and vendor-specific behaviors.
  • Validate end-to-end messaging scenarios, including OTP latency and delivery, DLR processing, opt-out/STOP flows, inbound/MO messaging, and Sender ID and alternate Sender ID failover.
  • Build and maintain aggregator monitoring, ELF dashboards, anomaly detection, and market-level alerting.
  • Perform live production troubleshooting during migration and post-migration stabilization.
  • Establish and follow vendor escalation paths, SLA commitments, and support procedures; use Sinch dashboards and support portals for production investigation.
  • Ensure support teams and MIMs have required access to systems, dashboards, portals, and resources; maintain current vendor contacts and escalation information.
  • Document proxy and gateway configurations, certificates, Sender IDs by market and use case, failover configurations, and rollback plans; validate rollback plans before migration.
  • Coordinate migration activities and communicate status, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
  • Confirm that no production traffic is being dispatched to Syniverse before decommissioning.
  • Export or retain historical logs and data where required; remove obsolete API/proxy configurations and Syniverse certificates.
  • Remove legacy vendor contacts and configurations, update operational documentation, and ensure monitoring, alerting, escalation paths, and support procedures reflect the new aggregator environment.
