About The Position

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Asset Wealth Management, you are an integral part of an agile team enhancing, building, and delivering trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you conduct critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas and business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Requirements

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience for NAMR/APAC (India), LATAM, or Hong Kong.
• For EMEA/LATAM-Brazil, formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience.
• For Singapore, follow local country guidance.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages.
• Experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools for coding, code review, test acceleration, or troubleshooting, and setting team expectations for validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption.
• Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems.
• Practical cloud-native experience.

Responsibilities

• Execute creative software solutions, including design, development, and technical troubleshooting, using approaches that go beyond routine methods to build solutions or break down technical problems.
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
• Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.
• Establish consistent validation standards for AI-assisted work, including secure coding, peer review, and automated testing, and promote reuse of effective patterns across the team.
• Apply knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle toolchain capabilities, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation tools, to improve the value realized from automation.
• Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve software application and system stability.
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability to existing systems and information architecture.
