About The Position

We are seeking a Java Engineer to join our engineering team and contribute to the development of reliable, scalable, and high-performing backend applications. This role will focus on building Java-based services, developing RESTful APIs, working with Cassandra databases, and applying modern software engineering practices throughout the development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on Java experience, solid knowledge of Spring Boot and Vert.x, and the ability to design and deliver robust backend solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of professional experience in Java software development.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and Vert.x.
  • Proven experience working with Cassandra, including query development and application integration.
  • Strong experience developing and supporting scalable RESTful APIs and backend services.
  • Good understanding of clean coding practices, design patterns, testing, debugging, and peer code reviews.
  • Ability to develop maintainable and scalable software solutions in an enterprise environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with distributed and high-volume backend applications.
  • Knowledge of Cassandra data modeling and query optimization.
  • Experience troubleshooting application performance and production issues.
  • Familiarity with modern software development and testing methodologies.
  • Experience using AI-powered developer tools such as GitHub Copilot to support software development activities.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise Java applications and backend services.
  • Build scalable and reliable REST APIs to support application and business requirements.
  • Develop solutions using Java frameworks such as Spring Boot and Vert.x.
  • Design and implement Cassandra database solutions, including queries and application-level database integration.
  • Analyze application requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • Apply appropriate design patterns and software engineering principles to develop maintainable applications.
  • Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and performance improvements across backend services.
  • Develop and maintain automated tests to ensure application quality, reliability, and stability.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain development standards.
  • Collaborate with developers and technical stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve coding efficiency, troubleshooting, testing, and overall development productivity.
