NC Govt Java Developer (15+)
About The Position
NCDIT Transportation is seeking to fill a short-term contractor assignment. The selected candidate will fill the role of Java Mid-Level Developer on the DMV Traffic Records Systems (TRS) team. This role involves backfilling the current team as they develop the eCrash / NC-CRIS project. The TRS supports the DMV Crash Data Management and DOH Traffic Safety in collecting, analysis, and distribution of motor vehicle accident information. The chosen candidate will be part of the application maintenance team serving as the technical specialist and consultant by independently managing complex Java projects and providing critical second level 24x7 on-call support. The contractor will work with Business Owners in the translation of customer requests into technical requests and user stories, coordinate software release schedules with the Business and Technical Team, develop business requirements, and provide testing and training support. This individual must have proven experience with enterprise-level software development programs.
Requirements
- Java/JEE, Oracle, and XML for a minimum of 3 years
- Web Services, JSP, Servlets, Spring, Struts, Eclipse IDE, and version control tools for a minimum of 3 years
- Application analysis and design, cost analysis, estimating staffing needs, testing, documentation, and implementation for a minimum of 3 years
- Technical helpdesk support for a minimum of 3 years
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Math, or Engineering or related technical discipline
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products
- Effective communications in oral and written form
- Java Certification
