About The Position
Seeking a Java Developer to support application development and production support activities within a manufacturing environment. This role will focus heavily on application support, troubleshooting, maintenance, and enhancements across existing and legacy applications. The ideal candidate will be an independent problem solver who can investigate issues, understand unfamiliar code, troubleshoot application/database problems, and work effectively with limited documentation. This is a support-heavy role, with an approximate 80% application support / 20% development split.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on Java development experience
- Strong experience with Java 8, preferably in a production environment
- Full-stack Java development experience
- Hands-on experience with Spring MVC
- Strong SQL skills
- Hands-on Oracle database experience
- Production/application support experience
- Experience troubleshooting legacy applications
- Ability to independently analyze code and identify root causes
- Experience working with application/database interactions

Responsibilities
- Provide production support for business-critical applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues across legacy and existing systems.
- Analyze application code, business logic, and database interactions to identify root causes.
- Develop application fixes, enhancements, and improvements resulting from support activities.
- Work closely with business users to understand reported issues and determine appropriate solutions.
- Investigate whether issues originate from application logic, database behavior, infrastructure, or other systems.
- Support and maintain legacy applications with limited documentation.
- Independently research and understand unfamiliar code and application functionality.
- Collaborate with technical teams and escalate issues when appropriate.
- Participate in application vulnerability remediation and secure coding activities.
- Support applications throughout their production lifecycle.
- Participate in a 24/7/365 on-call rotation approximately once every four weeks, Monday-to-Monday, including nights and weekends.
