About The Position
The Senior/Lead AI Data Engineer will design and implement AI-powered data reconciliation solutions for enterprise modernization initiatives. The role focuses on building scalable utilities that compare data from legacy and target systems, identify inconsistencies, and provide actionable reporting using GenAI techniques. The engineer will develop robust Python solutions, support data validation and quality assurance, and collaborate with architects and senior engineers in a fast-paced engineering team. The position is located in McLean, Virginia, with a hybrid work model preferred, particularly for candidates near a Capital One campus.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of professional software or data engineering experience.
- Hands-on expertise in data engineering.
- Advanced Python programming skills.
- Experience with LangGraph and consuming MCP services.
- Proficiency with GenAI tools and prompt engineering.
- Strong background in building and managing CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated adaptability and ability to learn new technologies quickly.

Responsibilities
- Architect and develop AI-based data reconciliation utilities for modernization initiatives.
- Analyze and compare data from legacy and target systems to identify and resolve inconsistencies.
- Apply GenAI technologies, prompt engineering, and pattern recognition to detect complex data mismatches.
- Build scalable Python solutions for reconciliation and reporting.
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline application delivery.
- Collaborate with architects and senior engineers to implement solutions.
- Contribute hands-on within a collaborative engineering team.
- Support organization-wide data validation, quality assurance, and modernization efforts.
