About The Position

Bobby Dodd Institute is seeking a janitorial team member to perform cleaning tasks that meet custodial contract specifications. The position is supervised by the Custodial Supervisor and is part of a federal AbilityOne contract, which requires most work hours to be performed by individuals with disabilities. This particular position must be filled by a person with a disability. The employee must successfully complete a criminal history information background check and be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

Requirements

• This position must be filled by a person with a disability, due to AbilityOne program requirements.
• Successfully complete a criminal history information background check.
• Be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
• Be able to stand for the majority of the work time, walk a significant portion of the time, and sit.
• Be able to lift and carry 35 pounds and push and pull 35 pounds.
• Be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and handle.
• Be able to communicate with supervisors and co-workers.
• Have three to six months of janitorial training or experience, or be capable of learning to perform the essential functions.
• Demonstrate a strong sense of integrity.

Nice To Haves

• Three to six months of training or experience working as a janitor.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Sweep and mop hallways, stairs, and offices.
• Empty wastebaskets and dispose of trash in the prescribed manner.
• Dust horizontal surfaces.
• Clean bathrooms.
• Clean glass and windows.
• Wash walls and other vertical surfaces.
• Vacuum rugs.
• Mix cleaning solutions.
• Maintain issued equipment.
• Notify the supervisor when supplies or equipment are needed.
• Cooperate with team members.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Custodial Supervisor.
