About The Position

Janitorial services is a team-oriented department focused on providing our guest with excellent customer service at Silver Mountain. The primary purpose is to ensure that the public facilities are maintained in a clean and sanitary condition, that general refuse is collected and disposed of properly, and that bathrooms, locker room, halls, walkways and stairwells are kept free of debris and various slip/trip hazards. You will sometimes be asked to undertake details or to perform tasks that are not specifically mentioned in this job description or completely outside your area of responsibility. Your willing, cheerful and enthusiastic cooperation is expected and greatly appreciated.

Requirements

  • Reference check
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
  • Be physically fit to perform strenuous labor.
  • Safety and risk oriented.
  • Must be at least 15 years of age.
  • Ability to learn and be knowledgeable of the needs of the equipment and standard procedures for its care and safe operation.
  • Demonstrate an on-going commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
  • Must be able to work in a hot environment, while constantly on feet (standing and walking) with or without shoes on wet or dry concrete surfaces without difficulty or injury to self.

Nice To Haves

  • A positive attitude and enthusiasm is a must.
  • You must be in good physical condition as this job requires laborious work during long periods in a 84 degree, humid environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the public facilities are maintained in a clean and sanitary condition.
  • Collect and dispose of general refuse properly.
  • Keep bathrooms, locker rooms, halls, walkways, and stairwells free of debris and various slip/trip hazards.
  • Work on your feet for extended periods of time, walking, climbing stairs.
  • Reach overhead for prolonged periods.
  • Lift, move, and carry heavy items (75+ lbs.).
  • Perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
  • Pay continual attention to the cleanliness and sanitation of public restrooms and various contact surfaces such as doorknobs, public telephones, handrails, and tabletops.
  • Remove stains, rust, or other unpleasant effects from sinks, toilets, walls, floors, and locker facilities.
  • Check and empty refuse containers often, and clean and/or re-line receptacles as needed.
  • Mop floors if there is a spill.
  • Remove papers, food, and other obstacles as quickly as possible to avoid any potential for injury or further contamination of public walkways.
  • Learn and be knowledgeable of the needs of the equipment and standard procedures for its care and safe operation.
  • Demonstrate an on-going commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
  • Interact with guests in a courteous manner and answer questions professionally.
  • Work in a hot environment, while constantly on feet (standing and walking) with or without shoes on wet or dry concrete surfaces without difficulty or injury to self.
