About The Position

The janitor position is responsible for keeping buildings clean, sanitary, orderly, and in good condition. This position does require some supervision experience. This position may work for various departments such as Asset, Operations, or others as assigned.

Requirements

Ability to follow instructions and safety protocols.
Ability to plan and complete tasks in a timely manner.
Ability to self-manage.
Must be able to read and communicate in English to understand technical documents, safety procedures, and instructions relevant to job duties. English proficiency is required due to operational and safety communication needs.
Must have supervisory experience.
High school diploma or GED required.
Possess current driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience performing janitorial duties preferred.

Responsibilities

Gather and empty trash.
Sweep, mop, or vacuum building floors.
Clean restrooms and stock them with supplies.
Clean spills and other hazards with appropriate equipment.
Wash windows, walls, and glass.
Clean and disinfect surfaces that are touched frequently.
Order cleaning supplies.
Make minor building repairs.
Notify managers when a building needs major repairs.
Pick up garbage around buildings.
Sweep walkways, remove snow, and spread ice melt.
Lock doors to secure buildings.
Supervise cleaning crew(s) on shift, assist with schedule and work with project manager on janitorial needs.
