About The Position

Guardian Proservices is seeking a consistently hard-working, Janitor Custodial Specialist based out of Laguardia International Airport New York who is committed to reliable quality service and customer relationships. We are looking for someone who is energetic, detail oriented, motivated and able to work independently or in a team. As a valued member of the Guardian Professional Services Team, you will provide a safe and clean environment to various airline passengers. We are seeking a motivated, friendly team member who will perform general cleaning duties in designated areas as needed. This is a great opportunity to work for our fast growing company! Requirements

Working experience of basic janitorial duties and responsibilities is a MUST.
Must have good listening and verbal communication skills.
Must have the ability to speak English and Spanish
Must maintain a neat appearance. A uniform is required at some worksites.
Must attend periodic training and safety meetings.
Must be able to understand and anticipate the needs of the clients.
Must be punctual.
Authorized to work in the U.S.
3-5 years of experience in commercial facilities and building janitorial work desired.
Janitorial: 3 years (Required)

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
Knowledge in airport operation cleaning (preferred)

Responsibilities

Sweeps, vacuums, mops, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines.
Dusts and washes walls, cleans ceilings and dusts and polishes light fixtures.
Moves cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas.
Removes stains from surfaces such as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
Performs other incidental seasonal tasks.
Dusts and washes walls, windows, ledges, cleans ceilings and dusts, removes trash.
Moves boxes, furniture and grates to clean areas, applies protection applications to walls floors and equipment. Removes protective applications from wall floors and equipment.
Able to use Heavy weight style B floor Machine and carpet extractor or detailing machine.
Maintains all types of floor areas through the process of stripping/refinishing hard surface floors and shampooing carpeted areas.
Labels chemicals correctly, operates chemicals dispensing units, measures chemicals correctly.
Inspects and ensures that all assigned areas are properly cleaned and in good repair, reporting all problems to the supervisor.
Shampoos assigned carpeted areas.
Complies with all Company policies and procedures.
Follows all safety and sanitation regulations, reporting problems to the shift supervisor.
Empties waste baskets and replaces liners.
Dusts/cleans tops of office furniture.
Vacuums all carpeting.
Spot cleans soiled areas on carpets as needed.
Sweeps and mops tile areas.
Wipes/cleans vending machines and appliances.
Cleans sink and counter areas.
Empties waste baskets and replaces liners as needed.
Sweeps and spot mops tile floors.
Completes damp mop tile floors.
Dusts/cleans cleared desks and surfaces of tables.
Keeps janitor’s closet neat and orderly.
Ensures equipment (such as vacuums) is properly maintained at all times.
