About The Position

CW is seeking a dedicated janitorial Site Safety Officer to support safe operations, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and promote a strong safety culture across our facility. This role involves conducting routine inspections, ensuring adherence to safety standards, monitoring the use of PPE and equipment, maintaining safety logs, training staff, communicating safety updates, and collaborating with site leadership to enhance safety processes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in janitorial, custodial, facilities, or environmental services.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in safety practices or compliance, such as conducting inspections, supporting safety programs, or assisting with OSHA-related requirements.
  • Familiarity with incident reporting, documentation, or workplace safety protocols, even if in a supporting capacity.
  • Valid Real ID.
  • Valid Driver License.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain government base access.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 10/30-hour certification in Construction or General Industry Safety.
  • Familiarity with incident reporting, documentation, or workplace safety protocols, even if in a supporting capacity.
  • Strong communication skills for delivering safety guidance and interacting with staff at all levels.
  • Strong attention to detail when observing work practices and identifying potential hazards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections of work areas, equipment, storage rooms, and chemical stations to identify hazards and ensure safe operations.
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA standards, company policies, and site-specific safety requirements.
  • Monitor proper use of PPE, cleaning chemicals, and janitorial equipment, and assist with safe setup, storage, and operation.
  • Maintain safety logs, incident reports, inspection records, and follow-up documentation for concerns, near-misses, and incidents.
  • Train staff on safety procedures, chemical handling, equipment use, and emergency protocols; lead toolbox talks, refresher trainings, and safety briefings.
  • Communicate safety updates, policy changes, corrective actions, and serve as the on-site contact for safety questions or issues.
  • Work alongside janitorial staff to observe workflows, identify hazards, and support safe daily operations.
  • Support response efforts for spills, biohazards, equipment issues, and other safety-related events.
  • Collaborate with site leadership to enhance safety processes and reduce risk across the facility.
