About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Sanitation Associate in Elwood, Illinois, to help maintain a safe, clean, and tour-ready warehouse facility handling food products. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The position pays $18.00 per hour, with weekly pay. Duties include cleaning warehouse, office, exterior, and employee areas according to sanitation schedules, as well as assisting maintenance technicians and performing light maintenance activities. Overtime may be needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year or more of previous warehouse experience preferred.
• Depending on location, may be required to be equipment certified.
• Ability to recognize and read location, date, and product codes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to create and maintain professional relationships across all levels of the organization, including peers, work groups, customers, and supervisors.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Flexibility and self-direction to excel in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and tasks, set priorities, and adapt to changing conditions and work assignments.
• Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up practices.
• Some positions may require additional screening, which may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check and road test, and/or customer badging or background requirements.

Responsibilities

• Clean restrooms, break room, locker room, and office areas according to the sanitation schedule.
• Clean exterior building areas, including windows and walkways, and empty trash containers and receptacles according to the sanitation schedule.
• Sweep and scrub warehouse floors and office areas according to the sanitation schedule.
• Wipe down warehouse and office racks, guard rails, and walls according to the sanitation schedule.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and tour-ready facility.
• Assist maintenance technicians as required and perform light maintenance activities such as painting.
• Perform additional duties as assigned and work overtime as needed.
