About The Position

This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized production and office environment by performing routine cleaning and sanitation duties throughout the facility. This position supports efficient manufacturing operations by ensuring offices, restrooms, and common areas are clean, free of hazards, and compliant with company safety, quality, and housekeeping standards. This position contributes to workplace safety, operational efficiency, and a positive work environment through consistent attention to cleanliness and facility upkeep.

  • Ability to identify and report maintenance, safety, or housekeeping concerns.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.

  • Ability to operate basic janitorial equipment, including vacuums, mops, floor cleaning equipment, following company procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous janitorial, housekeeping, custodial, or manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, warehouse, food-grade, or industrial environment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and workplace safety procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, lockout/tagout awareness requirements, and chemical handling procedures.
  • Follow all plant safety rules; understand and follow ISO procedures and GMP personnel practices and guidelines.
  • Monitor and empty trash receptacles throughout the facility and production area daily and as needed.
  • Inspect, clean, disinfect areas by following all GMP requirements.
  • Check and empty office/workroom paper shredders as needed and dispose of shredded materials as secured materials disposal (procedure J-013).
  • Thoroughly clean and disinfect restrooms, lockers, and breakrooms daily (procedure J-008).
  • Keep paper products stocked and report low inventory to buyer.
  • Vacuum all rugs and floor mats in the offices, breakrooms, and restrooms.
  • Clean and wipe down safety rails, walls, and other designated surfaces.
  • Maintain all janitorial equipment in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition.
  • Patrol facility grounds, including parking lots and driveways, to remove any litter or debris.
  • Report any maintenance or repair needs to the Maintenance Supervisor promptly.
  • Refill disposable cups and supplies at water cooler stations as needed.
  • Restock hairnet and beard net dispensers located at employee entrances and maintain adequate inventory in the Conference Room supply closet.
  • All other tasks or duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
