About The Position

Challenge Enterprises of North Florida, Inc. is seeking dependable, detail-oriented, and service-focused individuals to join our commercial contracts team as Part-Time Janitors. As a Part-Time Janitor, this position is responsible for performing janitorial duties in office buildings and related commercial areas under the direction of the Project Manager. This role includes cleaning, sanitizing, maintaining work areas, restocking supplies, and ensuring janitor closets and equipment are kept clean, organized, and safe. This position is ideal for someone who is reliable, willing to learn proper cleaning techniques, and able to provide quality customer service to clients.

Requirements

  • Previous knowledge of performance-based cleaning or willingness to learn
  • Ability to follow oral instructions
  • Ability to work effectively with a team
  • Ability to work independently as needed to support the group effort
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning products and Safety Data Sheets (SDS), or willingness to learn
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Willingness to work hours as needed
  • Routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying items weighing less than 50 pounds
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to bend and carry items weighing less than 50 pounds
  • Ability to use a team lift for items over 50 pounds
  • Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and cleaning chemicals
  • Ability to perform janitorial duties in office buildings and related areas

Responsibilities

  • Vacuum, sweep, mop, and machine scrub flooring and stairs
  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms, sinks, countertops, toilets, and bathroom stall walls
  • Dust and clean office desks and furniture that are not cluttered
  • Clean windowsills, stairwells, break rooms, and common areas
  • Empty trash cans, replace liners, and clean receptacles as needed
  • Restock supplies in bathrooms, break rooms, and common areas as necessary
  • Maintain janitor closets in a clean, organized, and safe manner
  • Maintain and use cleaning equipment safely and properly
  • Report damage to cleaning equipment to the Project Manager or supervisor
  • Report maintenance needs to the Project Manager or supervisor
  • Wear proper personal protective equipment at all times
  • Properly label, dilute, and use cleaning chemicals
  • Follow oral instructions and complete assigned tasks as directed
  • Work effectively with a team while also working independently when needed
  • Provide quality customer service to clients and maintain professional communication
  • Complete other duties as assigned or as needed
