About The Position

This position was created in order to provide customers with an exceptionally clean facility and outstanding service. The janitorial staff use a checklist system and training will be provided. Janitors need to be aware of customers and readily available to help them find what they came for with a smile, ensuring customers are greeted with 'HELLO' and left with 'Have a nice day' to encourage repeat business. Janitors are essential to the safety of customers and employees, and should always be on the lookout for spills and standing water.

Requirements

• Extensive walking and climbing of stairs.
• Ability to work at a steady pace and be on feet for the majority of an 8-hour shift.
• Ability to work on knees for up to an hour a shift (e.g., cleaning behind toilets and scrubbing floors).
• Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs. and carry them up to 20 feet.
• Ability to stoop and bend.
• Ability to lift 20 lbs. over head.
• Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate clearly to customers and staff.
• Optimistic outlook.
• Customer service oriented.
• Dependable, on-time, and willing to go the extra mile to get the job done.

Responsibilities

• Provide customers with an exceptionally clean facility.
• Provide customers outstanding service.
• Be aware of customers and readily available to help them find what they came for with a smile.
• Ensure customers are greeted with 'HELLO' and left with 'Have a nice day'.
• Be essential to the safety of customers and employees.
• Always be on the look out for spills and standing water.
• Clean restrooms and showers.
• Clean truckers lounge and laundry room.
• Stock janitor closets.
• Sweep and mop floors.
• Wash windows.
• Take out garbage and cardboard.
• Bag ice for retail sale.
• Dusting.
• Wash, dry and fold towels for customer use.
• Empty garbage's around front of the store and gas islands on occasion.
