About The Position

ServiceSource is a non-profit organization that hires individuals with disabilities to work within the AbilityOne program. The Janitor is responsible for cleaning and maintaining factory working areas, washrooms, and other premises in an orderly condition. This role involves a variety of cleaning tasks to ensure a safe and presentable environment. Requirements

  • Ability to understand and follow direction.
  • Knowledge of various cleaning products and when to use them.
  • Good oral/verbal communication skills.
  • Standing, walking, sitting, squatting, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) preferred.
  • At least one (1) year custodial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains building interior by dusting and polishing furniture, equipment, mirrors, and fixtures.
  • Washes windows, counters, walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
  • Sweeps, scrubs, and waxes floors.
  • Cleans and vacuums drapes, furniture, and carpeting, including carpet scrubbing.
  • Resupplies restrooms and replaces light bulbs.
  • Maintains building accessibility and appearance by picking up papers and trash and replacing light bulbs.
  • Removes trash by emptying trash containers, transporting materials to disposal areas, and collecting recycling materials.
  • Keeps cleaning equipment operational by following manufacturer's operating and care guidelines, and completing operator repairs and parts replacement.
  • Maintains parts and equipment inventory by checking stock, anticipating needed parts and cleaning equipment replacement, and placing orders.
  • Maintains a safe working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
