About The Position

Central Kelloggsville Elementary is seeking a Full-Time Janitor for the 2nd shift, working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The role requires the ability to maintain a clean, attractive, safe, and efficient learning environment. The successful candidate will learn to operate simple machinery and cleaning equipment, demonstrate good attendance and punctuality, and possess strong multi-tasking and detail-oriented skills. The position involves working in various environmental conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow) and requires the ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Effective communication and collaboration with parents, staff, students, and the public in a diverse community are essential. The district is committed to equity and inclusion.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to provide a clean, attractive, safe and efficient place for learning and instruction.
  • Ability to learn how to work with simple machinery and cleaning equipment.
  • Good attendance and punctuality.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and detail orientated.
  • Must be able to work in all environments; hot, cold, rain, snow.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to relate and work effectively with parents, staff, students, and the public in a multicultural and multiracial community.
  • Knowledge and awareness of own cultural identity and how this influences behavior, and desire to learn about the cultural identity of others.
  • Ability to establish and nurture an environment that promotes cultural competence and equitable treatment of staff, students, and patrons of the District.
  • Ability to recognize that each person is a unique individual even as we celebrate their group cultural heritage.
