About The Position

The Janitor provides cleaning and floor-care services at a location in Bluemont, Virginia. Duties include cleaning offices, conference rooms, hallways, common areas, bathrooms, and kitchens; dusting, mopping, and vacuuming; polishing and detailing stainless steel; and stripping, waxing, buffing, and sealing floors. Other duties may be assigned. The position requires access to a federal government site and successful completion of pre-employment screening and applicable background checks. The role has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of previous janitorial and/or housekeeping experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain access to a Federal Government site.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and obtain acceptable background check results.
• Ability to provide excellent janitorial and/or housekeeping services.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, including the ability to work with a variety of people.
• Ability to report to work on time and regularly.
• Knowledge of organizational procedures and workflows.
• Basic knowledge of relevant technologies or tools, such as Microsoft 365, communication platforms, or industry-standard software.
• Knowledge of customer service practices.
• Knowledge of data privacy and confidentiality principles.
• Written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean offices, conference rooms, hallways, common areas, bathrooms, kitchens, and other assigned areas.
• Dust, mop, and vacuum.
• Polish and detail stainless steel.
• Perform floor work, including stripping, waxing, buffing, and sealing floors.
• Report to work on time and regularly.
• Communicate and work effectively with the public, government employees, and other contractors as needed.
