About The Position

This position works under the supervision of the Project Manager and/or Supervisor. The Janitor is responsible for maintaining 95% standards of cleanliness within assigned tasks, which includes maintaining hard floors, carpeted floors, removal of trash, and completing low and high dusting programs. The role requires the ability to utilize cleaning products, chemicals, vacuums, mops, wringers, dust tools, and floor machines. The Janitor must also respond to overhead paging systems and radios, complete floor care as scheduled, and perform low and high dusting of assigned areas. Additionally, the Janitor will sweep exterior entryways and walkways, clean exterior signs and plaques, complete weekly checklists, report broken items or equipment, use discretion when handling confidential materials, maintain a clean and safe work environment, comply with work schedules and company policies, adhere to Universal Precautions/Bloodborne Pathogen standards, and follow established procedures for handling and mixing chemicals. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

A high school diploma or GED required
U.S. citizenship may be required
Must possess skills to read, write and comprehend English
Valid Driver’s License and proof of current automobile insurance and the ability to travel to local facilities
Ability to pass a background check and or Govt. security clearance
Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background screen, and drug test
Ability to follow written and oral instructions
Ability to demonstrates good customer relation’s skills

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of janitorial methods, practices, materials, tools, occupational hazards and safety precautions of the janitorial work

Responsibilities

Sweep/dust mop uncarpeted floors
Vacuum carpets and rugs
Clean mats
Spray clean and buff floors
Wet mop
Strip coat, buff
Deep clean carpets and rugs
Clean under raised floors
Hose down, scrub, squeegee/mop
Responsible for trash removal and cleaning of containers
Assures that all areas are cleaned as per daily schedule
Must respond to overhead paging system, and radio
Complete floor care as scheduled
Must perform low and high dusting of assigned areas, which includes but not limited to: vents, lights, telephones, desks, ledges, windows and furniture
Sweep exterior entry ways and walkways, clean exterior signs and plaques
Complete weekly checklist and submit to supervisor
Report broken items or equipment for repairs
Must use discretion when handling confidential materials
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Comply with work schedules and company policies and procedures
Adheres to established “Universal Precautions/Blood borne Pathogen” standards
Follow established procedure methods for handling and mixing chemicals
Completes other duties as assigned
