About The Position

Austin Industrial is seeking a detail-oriented, flexible Janitor willing to take on non-routine cleaning and special projects as needed. The position is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing offices, meeting rooms, bathrooms, kitchens and dining rooms, and public areas. Other duties may be assigned. Applicants must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States. Austin Industrial is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.

Requirements

Must be detail-oriented and flexible, and willing to take on non-routine cleaning and special projects as needed.

No minimum education requirements.
No experience required.
Valid State ID.
Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and may frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Clean floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
Gather and empty trash.
Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaning materials and tools.
Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing, and electrical systems.
Prepare cleaning solutions by mixing water and detergents or acids according to specifications.
Steam-clean or shampoo carpets.
Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
Clean and restore building interiors damaged by fire, smoke, or water using commercial cleaning equipment.
Clean laboratory equipment such as glassware and metal instruments using solvents, brushes, rags, and power cleaning equipment.
Drive vehicles needed to perform or travel to cleaning work, including vans, industrial trucks, or industrial vacuum cleaners.
Follow procedures for using chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
Monitor building security and safety, including locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use for hazards.
Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies manually or with hand trucks.
Mow and trim lawns and shrubbery and clear debris from grounds.
Notify managers about the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
Perform other duties as assigned.
