About The Position

The Janitor performs general cleaning and preservation of assigned areas within one building or multiple client sites. Specific tasks may vary, so the employee must be flexible and perform duties according to client specifications. The role is offered at $17.00 per hour and is temporary.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience in a janitorial-type position.
Ability to follow written and oral directions.
Flexibility to perform assigned duties according to client specifications.

Responsibilities

Empty and clean waste containers; remove waste paper and garbage to the selected area and damp-wipe containers.
Empty and clean ashtrays, monitor sand urn supplies, and replenish sand as needed.
Dust image frames, charts, graphs, and wall hangings.
Damp-dust ceiling and air-conditioning diffusers, partition grilles, registers, and other ventilation louvers.
Vacuum mats and carpeted areas in workplaces, lobbies, and corridors.
Hand-dust and clean office furnishings, files, fixtures, paneling, window sills, and other flat surfaces.
Wipe clean and buff metal hardware fixtures and brightwork.
Clean and maintain tile floor surfaces as required.
Damp-wipe and buff glass furnishings.
Clean interior and exterior surfaces of entry-door glass.
Remove stains from vertical surfaces, including doors, door frames, areas around light switches, private-entry glass, and dividers.
Wash, clean, and sterilize water coolers.
Sweep private stairways and vacuum them if carpeted.
Sweep and mop building floors.
Clean and sanitize bathrooms and restock supplies.
Follow written and oral directions and perform assigned duties according to client specifications.
