About The Position

Autoport Limited is hiring a Janitor in Eastern Passage, Nova Scotia! Employees in the Janitorial Department are responsible for maintaining cleanliness standards throughout Autoport’s workplace facilities, including washrooms, lunchrooms, change rooms, shop areas, technician bays, and other operational spaces. Working independently and as part of a broader team, employees help ensure all facilities remain safe, sanitary, and well-maintained while supporting daily operations across three separate buildings.

Requirements

  • Punctual and reliable
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record
  • Able to adhere to quality and safety standards
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and cleanliness standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous janitorial or industrial cleaning experience considered an asset.
  • WHMIS training considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize washrooms, lunchrooms, change rooms, public areas, shop spaces, technician bays, and facility floors.
  • Collect, transport, and dispose of waste and recyclables using company equipment and designated collection bins.
  • Maintain cleanliness standards throughout multiple buildings and operational areas.
  • Monitor inventory levels and restock cleaning supplies, washroom products, water bottles, and other consumables as needed.
  • Report maintenance concerns, hazards, safety issues, or supply shortages promptly to supervisors.
  • Follow all workplace safety procedures, policies, and housekeeping standards.
  • Work independently while effectively managing daily cleaning schedules and assigned tasks.
  • Support changing operational needs and take direction from supervisors as required.
