About The Position

The Janitor position at Fond du Luth Casino is responsible for assisting in the daily cleaning of the casino, including vacuuming, dusting, cleaning windows, stocking breakrooms, taking out trash, and assisting with floor maintenance such as stripping and waxing. The role also involves performing snow removal, minor maintenance tasks, and operating cleaning equipment. Employees are required to wear a provided department uniform and obtain a gaming identification badge. This position requires attendance at all mandatory department and training sessions, including Title 31 and/or SAR training. The Janitor must ensure the confidentiality of financial and employee records, display a professional and responsive demeanor, and represent the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa positively. Maintaining proper attendance and a clean work area are essential. Flexibility to assume additional responsibilities as assigned by management is also required.

Requirements

Previous janitorial experience.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing is required.
Ability to work independently and establish priorities is required.
Attention to detail and accuracy is required.
Ability to establish professional and harmonious working relationships on all projects and with all parties involved.
Subject to drug and alcohol testing in accordance with the Fond du Lac Reservation’s Personnel Policies.
Subject to pre-employment and annual background checks.
Ability to obtain a gaming identification badge to work in and around Casino property and facilities.
Must attend all mandatory department training.
Must attend all required Title 31 and/or SAR training.

Responsibilities

Assists in cleaning the casino daily to include, vacuuming, dusting, clean windows, stock breakrooms, take trash to dumpster when needed, assist strip/wax buff floors.
Follows direction of the shift lead/manager.
Performs snow removal.
Performs minor maintenance.
Operates cleaning equipment.
Ensures confidentiality of financial records and all records for employees, band members and/or clients.
Displays a responsive and professional manner in promptly responding to all requests, complaints, and problems.
Recognizes that each employee is a representative of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and is responsible for demonstrating courtesy, respect, and sensitivity to the needs of all others, including visitors and co-workers.
Represents the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and the department in a positive and professional manner in the community.
Required to maintain proper attendance including reporting to work on time in accordance with applicable policies.
Maintains a clean and organized work area.
Assumes other responsibilities assigned by management as deemed necessary.
