About The Position

The Janitor position is responsible for providing students and staff with a safe and clean learning and working environment. This role also assists with identifying, communicating, repairing, and moving equipment or facility damage.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED, required.
Knowledge of cleaning techniques and equipment.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
Such alternatives to the above as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and floors.
Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in all areas of the building.
Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
Clean windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces.
Dust and wipe down surfaces such as desks, vents, lighting fixtures, lockers, tables, countertops, and computers.
Perform minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs or fixing minor plumbing issues.
Follow safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Respond to requests from staff regarding cleaning and minor maintenance issues.
Input work order if issue identified is not within scope of job responsibilities.
Adhere to district policies and procedures regarding cleanliness and hygiene standards.
Any other duties assigned by the Superintendent or their designee.
