About The Position

The Janitor will be responsible for helping to maintain an attractive, clean, and comfortable environment to meet the needs of our residents. Blakehurst is a Life Plan Community situated on a beautiful 40-acre campus in Towson, MD, near Baltimore. Our goal is to enrich the lives of the over 300 seniors we serve. Requirements

Someone who can understand and follow instructions and communicate effectively.
Has knowledge of cleaning equipment and cleaning chemicals/solvents and demonstrated ability to work safely with them.
Can learn the methods of cleaning and caring for buildings and equipment.
Work as a team member in a structured working environment
Can handle multiple tasks and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
All new hires must be able to pass our preemployment screening process, which includes a fitness for duty physical, criminal background check, drug test and employment references as required by a licensed residential care facility.

Nice To Haves

Three to six months experience in housekeeping or custodial position preferred.

Responsibilities

Exemplify at all times community standards of cleanliness, sanitation and organization.
Maintains floors and carpets.
Picks up and removes trash.
Maintains all equipment and supplies in proper condition.
Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
