About The Position

We are seeking dependable and detail-orientated Janitors to support daily operations at a remote camp on the North Slope of Alaska. The role is responsible for maintaining clean and sanitary common areas, offices, living quarters, kitchens, restrooms, and common areas; performing full floor-care tasks; removing and compacting trash; completing light maintenance such as changing bulbs; and keeping entryways clear of snow and debris. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, and comfortable working long hours in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The position involves a rotational schedule of 3 weeks on/3 weeks off, with 12-hour shifts per day. Travel between Anchorage and the job site, as well as housing and meals, are provided by the company.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous janitorial experience
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Able to proficiently speak, read, understand and write English
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical requirements
  • Must meet criminal history and background requirements

Responsibilities

  • Clean hallways, stairways, offices, food preparation and break areas, kitchen areas and equipment, laundry rooms, living areas, work areas, off-site areas, common areas, restrooms, public areas, and other similar areas
  • Dust both low and high areas and wipe down/clean various surfaces
  • Sweep, mop, scrubs, strip, extract, wax, buff, vacuum, etc. all types of floors
  • Removes and transports and compacts trash to the appropriate disposal areas
  • Change light bulbs and perform light facility maintenance
  • Keep building entryways free of snow and debris
  • Operate a vehicle to work at remote locations
  • Follow proper DUS safety precautions and wear the correct PPE for the task
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner
  • Willingness to perform other duties as required
  • Willingness to work at various locations as required
