About The Position

SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTIONS: The Janitorial Trainee’s primary function is to clean the main areas in the office. Reports to the Job Coach/Program Coordinator MEASURABLE PRODUCTION GUIDELINES: Accept instructions from the job coach. Wipe down front windows and doors (inside and out). Wipe walls where needed. Lobby: Dust all furniture; wipe coffee area, coffee maker, and water dispenser. Dust tables in conference rooms, push in chairs. Bathroom: Clean mirror, sink and toilet. Shake rug. Sweep and mop floor. Refill paper towels and toilet tissue. Vacuum the entire office. Wipe down counters in break room. Wash any dirty dishes in the sink. Wipe out the microwave. Gather ALL trash in the building and take it to the dumpster outside. Learn to apply all Skills learned in the workplace at work as well as in the community. Clean and sanitize all bathrooms QUALIFICATIONS: Communication Skills: Ability to learn to communicate thoroughly and accurately with supervisor, staff and co-workers in a respectful manner. Strong listening skills or ability to learn them are required. Equipment: Knowledge of/or the ability to learn to operate a vacuum cleaner Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge and a desire to work in the janitorial field. ESSENTIALS: Has a strong desire to work. Express ideas through appropriate means of communication. Ability to follow 2-step instructions. Able to carry trash and put in dumpster. Ability to learn daily cleaning routine. What started as an individual support provider has now grown into an organization that helps support families to support themselves. Our objectives include initiating and maintaining contact with families, creating schedules for parents, sharing information, education, and participation with other agency networks and government agencies. The people we serve include two-parent families, single-parent families, individuals with disabilities, individuals that are rurally located, children, adolescents, and senior citizens. We help families brainstorm solutions to problems, help them navigate the complex social service system and assist in locating medical and adaptive equipment. We also assist with applications for services that include: DD Eligibility, TEFRA, Respite, SSI/SSA, Transportation and Public Assistance.
