About The Position

Standard Bots is seeking a Manufacturing Facility Janitor to maintain cleanliness and safety in their Glen Cove manufacturing facility. This role is crucial for ensuring product quality, employee safety, and a positive visitor impression. The Janitor will work on the production floor, coordinate with supervisors, and be responsible for cleaning various areas including restrooms, offices, break rooms, and common spaces. They will also manage waste and recycling, track supplies, and adhere to safety protocols. This is a full-time, on-site position with evening hours.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions, chemical labels, and safety signage in English
  • Physically able to stand and walk for the majority of an 8-hour shift, lift and carry up to 50 lbs, bend, kneel, reach, and climb a step ladder, and push/pull cleaning carts and equipment
  • Reliable transportation to the facility for evening shift hours
  • Strong attention to detail and a consistent, dependable work ethic

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience cleaning a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial facility
  • Experience operating floor scrubbers, buffers, or other powered cleaning equipment
  • Familiarity with OSHA workplace safety basics and SDS / chemical handling
  • Forklift or pallet jack experience for moving waste or supplies
  • Experience working in or around active production environments without disrupting operations

Responsibilities

  • Sweep, mop, and scrub production floors on the assigned schedule
  • Empty and re-line trash and recycling bins; haul waste to the appropriate disposal area
  • Wipe down common surfaces, workbenches (non-active), break tables, and shared tooling stations
  • Keep walkways, exits, and safety equipment (eye-wash stations, fire extinguishers, AEDs) clear and visible at all times
  • Coordinate with line supervisors before cleaning around active workstations to avoid disrupting production
  • Clean and disinfect all restrooms at least once per shift, more frequently as needed; restock soap, paper towels, and hand sanitizer
  • Empty trash, vacuum carpets, mop hard floors, and wipe down surfaces in offices and common areas
  • Clean and restock break rooms -- microwaves, counters, sinks, and coffee stations
  • Clean glass doors, interior windows, and entryways
  • Consolidate trash and recycling from all assigned areas and move waste to the dumpster or designated pickup point
  • Break down cardboard and route it into the recycling stream per facility procedure
  • Track cleaning supply usage and flag the Facilities Lead before running low
  • Use all chemicals according to label directions and SDS guidance
  • Keep carts, vacuums, mops, and buckets clean, stocked, and stored properly at end of shift
  • Follow all facility safety rules: PPE where required, wet-floor signs whenever floors are wet, lockout/tagout awareness around equipment
  • Report any unsafe condition -- spill, leak, frayed cord, blocked exit -- to the Facilities Lead immediately
  • Check in at the start of each shift for priority items or area restrictions; confirm route completion at end of shift
  • Communicate early if you won't finish your route, supplies are running low, or you'll be out
