About The Position

PCSI is hiring a Janitor based at El Paso International Airport in El Paso, Texas. The role performs routine, unskilled, and semi-skilled janitorial work to keep assigned locations clean. The position reports to the Project Manager. Typical shifts are morning, 6:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m., or night, 2:30 p.m.–11:00 p.m. PCSI is a nonprofit AbilityOne employer whose mission is to enhance the lives of people with disabilities through employment, advocacy, partnerships, and innovation. Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
One year of prior experience working as a Janitor is preferred, or a combination of education and training demonstrating the knowledge and experience to perform the work.
Ability to use general cleaning equipment such as a mop, broom, vacuum, duster, pail, and buffer.
Ability to use maintenance equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, and blowers.
Ability to use cleaning equipment according to procedures and ensure proper usage and safety.
Ability to read and follow cleaning chemical dilution rates and understand Material Safety Data Sheets for chemicals and solutions used during work.
Ability to follow workplace policies and procedures and work both as a team member and independently.
Ability to assist and communicate with others and establish effective working relationships.
Ability to climb, bend, squat, lift, and carry objects weighing 10–60 pounds; occasionally push objects weighing up to 100 pounds; and walk for prolonged periods, up to 90%.
Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screenings.
Ability to work outside in inclement weather as needed and be exposed to dirt, debris, odors, and cleaning chemicals.
Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned sites, if required.

Responsibilities

Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, break rooms, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
Mix water and chemicals to prepare daily cleaning solutions according to Material Safety Data Sheets.
Clean and polish metalwork, lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
Sweep and mop floors; occasionally operate a floor buffer and strip, seal, finish, and polish floors as required.
Clean rugs and vacuum carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies; steam-clean or shampoo carpets as required.
Move and dust furniture and equipment as needed.
Wash walls, ceilings, windows, door panels, sills, and woodwork.
Empty and clean waste baskets and ashtrays, and transport trash, waste, and recyclables to disposal areas.
Service, clean, and replenish bathroom supplies as needed.
Open, close, lock, and unlock facilities as needed.
Monitor grounds and keep parking lots and walkways free of debris; mow and trim lawns using a lawn mower and hand trimmers.
Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas during inclement weather as required, using snowplows, snow shovels, and melting chemicals.
Document and maintain records of completed work.
Maintain assigned equipment in satisfactory working condition and follow applicable procedures and safety requirements.

Base pay of $12.98 per hour.
