About The Position

Goodwill Easterseals Miami Valley (GESMV) is a large employer in the region with a mission to empower individuals with disadvantages and disabilities to improve their quality of life. They employ over 600 associates in their retail stores and offer more than 40 programs and services. GESMV is seeking driven, enthusiastic individuals to join their team and offers part-time and full-time positions with varied schedules and hours.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years’ janitorial lead or management experience is required.
  • Ability to function and interact with various personnel.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, general business instructions, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to supervise.
  • Ability to prepare numerical reports.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the work site.
  • Must maintain the ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Comply with all Agency policies, procedures, and safety standards throughout work areas and maintain same to meet CARF, DOL and other regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise and train janitorial personnel, ensuring they understand and complete their tasks efficiently.
  • Actively participate in cleaning and maintenance tasks alongside staff to model proper techniques and work ethic.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, ensuring proper usage and replenishment as needed.
  • Conduct routine inspections of all areas to ensure compliance with the Statement of Work (SOW) and address deficiencies immediately.
  • Handle minor maintenance and repair of janitorial equipment to minimize service disruptions.
  • Assist in scheduling and delegating work assignments to optimize workflow and ensure adequate coverage.
  • Train employees in safety procedures and proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Maintain daily communication with staff to address concerns, provide guidance, and foster teamwork.
  • Respond promptly to customer complaints, concerns, or special cleaning requests, ensuring high service quality.
  • Serve as a point of contact for emergency cleaning or unexpected issues.
  • Serve as a point of contact for all designated exterior trash issues up to and including bus stop trash.
  • Perform hands-on cleaning tasks, demonstrating proper techniques and efficiency.
  • Work within budgeted hours to complete the required work.
  • Comply with all Agency policies, procedures and safety standards throughout work areas and maintain same to meet CARF, HIPAA, Department of Labor and other regulatory standards.
  • Assist Contract Manager in adhering to and maintaining quality control plan, daily issues log, and follow-up customer service.
  • Assist Contract Manager in meeting required direct labor ratio for people with disabilities, by training and developing them to meet their full vocational potential and maintain stable workforce.
  • Assist Contract Manager in training all employees in basic disability awareness and issues.
  • Assist Contract Manager in conducting monthly Safety Meetings.
  • Assist Contract Manager in ensuring that policies and procedures are properly followed.
  • Assist Contract Manager in maintenance of equipment, proper utilization.
  • Assist Contract Manager in updating all records pertaining to CIMS.
  • Assist Contract Manager in addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Assist Contract Manager in assisting at other job sites as needed.
  • Assist Contract Manager in maintaining a safe and orderly work environment.
  • Assist Contract Manager in ordering supplies.
  • Perform other duties assigned by manager or Contract Manager.
