About The Position

The Janitorial Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the janitorial staff cleans and maintains the client’s premises to the standards set by FlagShip Holding Company. This role involves supervising employees, delegating tasks, evaluating performance, and ensuring proper work area coverage. The supervisor must be able to perform hands-on janitorial tasks when necessary, such as dust mopping, sweeping, stripping/refinishing, carpet scrubbing, servicing restrooms, and window washing. Additionally, the role requires problem-solving, issue resolution, and making recommendations for continuous quality improvement. Reporting to the Operations Manager/Operations Coordinator, the supervisor will address customer concerns, track purchasing activities, manage supply and equipment usage, and conduct on-the-job training for staff. This position carries management responsibilities in accordance with company policies, customer rules, and applicable laws.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Three to Five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in the janitorial/facilities field.
  • Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities and high customer demand.
  • Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in maintenance work.
  • Excellent internal and external customer service skills.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to lead others and motivate people.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team; an intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office skills, i.e. Excel, Word plus Gmail, Google docs, Google calendar.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Clean DMV record.
  • Pass criminal background screening.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise employees and delegate operations schedule to ensure proper work area coverage.
  • Evaluate performance of personnel and inspect assigned areas to ensure proper work performance, including hands-on support and ability to perform work when necessary (e.g., dust mopping, sweeping, stripping/refinishing, carpet scrubbing, servicing restrooms, window washing).
  • Find and define problems, resolve issues, and make recommendations to management staff, staff, and/or customer contact for continuous quality improvement and to exceed customer expectations.
  • Report any issues, concerns, or discrepancies to Operations Manager/Operations Coordinator.
  • Address customer concerns and inquiries and report any new or changing job/work orders.
  • Perform, track, and evaluate purchasing activities, supply and equipment usage and repairs, ensuring appropriate labeling, dilution, and storage requirements are met in accordance with company, customer, and OSHA standards.
  • Provide on-the-job training for staff/employees to job-specific tasks.
  • Participate in company and customer training, ensuring effective communication and distribution of information to supervisors, customers, and employees.
  • Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies, customer’s rules and regulations, and applicable laws.
