About The Position

Draper and Kramer is a family-owned company with over 130 years of experience providing vertically integrated property and financial services throughout the United States. The Janitor Helper A reports directly to the Head Janitor (property engineer). Membership in the Union is a requirement at this location. The ability to multi-task and be adaptive to changing responsibilities while keeping a positive attitude is crucial.

Requirements

• Experience working in multifamily facilities
• Light plumbing, minor electrical and HVAC skills are needed
• Educational requirements as based on union 2-year Janitor Helper A Apprenticeship Program completed
• Must be a self-starter and able to multi-task
• Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment which may require working holidays, weekends and nights based on needs at site location and in cases of emergency
• Strong time management, organizational and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Cleaning including vacuuming carpets, refuse removal, cleaning of chute rooms, sweeping and mopping, snow removal
• Cleaning of common areas may include lobby, fitness center, ballroom, laundry room, restrooms, break room (as applicable)
• Assist in maintenance and emergencies as needed
• Perform other maintenance and janitorial duties consistent with the Helper A classification under the SEIU Local 1/ABOMA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
