About The Position

Amentum is seeking an Industrial Janitor in Vance, AL to provide the cleaning and upkeep of an assigned area for an industrial facility. This is a full-time position. The role involves daily cleaning and maintenance of buildings and facilities, including heavy cleaning duties such as floors, rugs, walls, glass, and trash removal. The Janitor will also be responsible for notifying management of repair needs, maintaining effective communication with clients and colleagues, and adhering to all safety and compliance standards. Flexibility and willingness to perform assigned tasks are essential. The position requires the ability to prepare cleaning solutions, strip, seal, finish, and polish floors, clean and vacuum carpets, gather and dispose of trash, clean surfaces and fixtures, service restrooms, and clean interior glass and mirrors. Maintaining an orderly janitor's closet and equipment is also part of the role. Additionally, the Janitor will monitor building security and safety, potentially drive vehicles to different facilities for cleaning, and provide support during client events. Miscellaneous duties as assigned are also expected.

Requirements

1 year of relevant experience in industrial or commercial cleaning.
Must be able to obtain and maintain facility/security credentials/authorization.
US citizenship or Permanent Residency is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
May require a valid driver’s license issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles.
Repetitive motions: bend, stoop, squat, kneel, stretch, reach and wrist movement.
Walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
Regularly lift up to 30 lbs.
Work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions.
Ability to differentiate colors pertaining to color coded cleaning microfiber clothes and mops.
Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment.

Responsibilities

Cleans and maintains buildings/facilities.
Performs heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing trash.
Notifies managers concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
Establishes and maintains effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc.
Complies with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities.
Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
Utilizes ladders, dusts and washes furniture, walls, blinds and select equipment; cleans ceilings and dusts light fixtures and ceiling vents.
Removes stains from surfaces such as carpet, drapes/shades, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
Prepares cleaning solutions per specifications.
Strips, seals, finishes, and polishes floors.
Cleans and vacuums carpeted areas, including application of spot cleaning treatment.
Gathers trash and empties in appropriate trash and recycling bins.
Wipes and cleans tabletops, chairs, refrigerators, microwaves, etc.
Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures.
Services, cleans, and supplies restrooms.
Cleans interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
Keeps janitor’s closet neat and orderly and maintain equipment in good working order.
Monitors building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and possibly checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
Drives vehicles (if required) to perform or travel to other facilities to clean, including vans, industrial trucks, golf carts, or industrial vacuum cleaners.
Provides special cleaning and support during client events, as needed.
Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
