About The Position

The Custodian performs custodial duties, minor maintenance, and other tasks to keep buildings and facilities healthy, safe, and sanitary. Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, or willingness to learn them, is essential. The role may involve working between multiple locations and caring for the main building, facilities, and equipment. The Custodian reports to the Lead Custodian and Custodial Supervisor.

Requirements

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
Basic knowledge of general housekeeping methods and practices, cleaning products, and their use, or willingness to learn proper cleaning techniques.
Ability to work between multiple locations.

Responsibilities

Collect trash, replace garbage liners, and clean garbage receptacles as required.
Dust and clean furniture, fixtures, and horizontal surfaces as required.
Vacuum carpeted areas and mop tile and concrete floors as required.
Wash and disinfect restroom floors, toilets, and toilet seats; restock paper and soap dispensers as required.
Empty restroom trash and clean mirrors, walls, and toilet partitions.
Clean windowsills and windows.
Perform or report minor maintenance repairs and damage.
Keep janitor closets clean, organized, and safe.
Maintain janitorial equipment in a clean, safe, and operable condition.
Properly label, dilute, and use chemicals.
Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment at all times.
Perform other duties as assigned.
