The Jail Division is seeking a Full-Time Male Jail Deputy. This position is part of the WPPA Union and offers a starting pay of $25.00 hourly with a shift differential for night shifts. The role includes participation in the Wisconsin Retirement Fund and comprehensive County benefits such as medical, dental, vision, disability, and deferred compensation. Uniforms and gear are provided. Additional pay opportunities exist for Jail Training Officer, WI DOJ Certified Instructor, and Bilingual (Spanish) skills. Several benefit time options are available, including vacation, personal, holiday, comp time, and sick leave. Special assignment opportunities, such as Honor Guard, and incentive pay for physical readiness are also offered. Experienced applicants may be eligible for the Lateral Entry Program, with starting pay potentially up to $29.41 based on years of service. The Jail Division operates on 12-hour shifts, providing every other Friday-Saturday-Sunday off. Essential duties involve maintaining jail safety, security, and discipline, intervening in disturbances, conducting searches, surveillance of inmates, managing inmate custody and release, and preparing reports. The position requires availability for rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
