About The Position

The City of Cape Girardeau is seeking qualified applicants for potential employment in the position of Part-Time Jail Control Room Operator. This is an hourly, non-exempt position. Applicants must possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent and not have any convictions for felonies. Selected applicants will undergo an oral interview, a background investigation, and a pre-employment drug screen. The city is looking to fill up to two part-time positions, one primarily assigned to the evening shift (3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.) and one primarily assigned to the night shift (11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.). Qualified applicants must be available to work both weekdays and weekends. The available positions offer some flexibility of hours, ranging from approximately 12 to 28 hours per week. This position will remain open until filled.
