J7 Modeling and Simulation Joint Training/Exercise Planner

KBR, Inc.Colorado Springs, CO
Onsite

About The Position

KBR is seeking a J7 Modeling and Simulation Joint Training/Exercise Planner to join their team in Colorado Springs, CO. This role requires an active TS/SCI clearance. The planner will provide modeling and simulation (M&S) integration and execution support for USSPACECOM exercises, training, and wargames. This includes supporting analysis, review, and assessment of key performance parameters, and coordinating with system architects/engineers to resolve issues with M&S tools. The role involves developing, testing, and executing integrated M&S to simulate display systems used in exercises, training, and wargames, utilizing government-provided tools and models. Coordination with internal and external customers during the planning phase is essential to identify and implement appropriate simulation architectures based on event requirements. The planner will propose technical solutions for requirements not currently integrated into a simulation architecture and support the selection, implementation, and execution of computer models or alternative analysis tools for various purposes like assessment, experimentation, and wargames. Developing use cases, user scenarios, and concepts of operations, and assisting in designing simulation experiments for M&S analytics are also key responsibilities. The position involves providing innovative M&S services, supporting responsible prototyping of new M&S offerings, and communicating architecture designs to a worldwide training audience. Simulation Coordinator functions, including facilitating M&S Working Groups, selecting M&S tools, coordinating with agencies, and conducting database/system event tests, are required. The role also supports research, testing, and implementation of M&S systems to improve current capabilities or stimulate operational systems. Expertise in space operations intelligence, M&S activities, and using government tools is necessary. The planner will also perform M&S controller/role player tasks and maintain historical M&S databases.

Requirements

  • An active TS/SCI with ACCM and SAP eligibility, which is something only a U.S. citizen can obtain.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher required.
  • Experience using M&S to develop Government specified content for USSPACECOM J7 joint exercises, tabletop exercises, proof of concepts, experiments, live fire and rehearsal of concept drills, or similar and relevant Combatant Command / MAJCOM / HHQ / Joint Staff / OSD experience.
  • Advanced capability initiating, supervising, and developing requirements from a project’s inception to conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs.
  • Advanced experience providing strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff.
  • Experience identifying challenges, making recommendations to the client and providing assistance and support at the strategic level.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Extensive experience developing memorandums, talking papers, staff packages, and other DoD correspondence.
  • Experience developing senior level briefings.
  • Experience briefing and interacting with senior (GO/FLAG) level officer and senior civilians.
  • Experience coordinating plans between internal and external staff agencies to ensure a coherent effort.
  • Current/relevant space / joint space operations knowledge and background.
  • The following systems, as a minimum, are required: Common Operational Picture (COP), SDCCS, STK, JIMDTS, PDS-M, Intelink, and ITW/AA displays.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of JPME I is highly desired, and JPME II is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide modeling and simulation (M&S) integration and execution support to USSPACECOM exercises, training, and wargames.
  • Support analysis, review, and assessment of key performance parameters.
  • Coordinate with appropriate system architects/engineers to resolve any issues or troubleshoot M&S tools being used and provide resolution to obtain the needed capability.
  • Using government provided tools and models, develop, test, and execute fully integrated and dynamic M&S to simulate all display systems used during exercises, training, and wargames.
  • Coordinate with internal and external customers/organizations during the planning phase to identify and implement an appropriate simulation architecture based on requirements and objectives of a given event.
  • Propose technical solutions and/or alternatives to requirements not currently integrated into a simulation architecture.
  • Support the selection, implementation, and execution of detailed computer models or alternative analysis tools for assessment, experimentation, concept development, demonstrations, prototyping, and wargames.
  • Develop use cases, user scenarios, concepts of operations, and assist in designing simulation experiments to support modeling and simulation analytics.
  • Provide innovative M&S services and capabilities.
  • Assist the government with responsible prototyping of new M&S offerings through experimentation, prototyping, testing, and fielding of already developed components into the distributed training environment.
  • Support technical planning and communication of the architecture design and development in order to facilitate integration of the M&S effort’s delivery to a world-wide training audience.
  • Perform Simulation Coordinator functions for specified exercises/training events to include facilitation of the M&S Working Group at planning conferences, selection of appropriate M&S tools, coordination with internal and external agencies, and conduct of database/system event tests.
  • Support research, test, evaluation, and implementation of existing and emerging hardware and software M&S systems with the potential to improve current simulation capabilities or to stimulate current or near-future operational systems within the USSPACECOM mission set that are not currently stimulated by simulations during exercise and training events.
