About The Position

Provide safe, reliable non-emergency transportation for Jewish seniors and special needs adults and the greater community. Transport senior adults and individuals with a disability to and from medical, personal care and grocery store visits.

Requirements

• Minimum requirement of high school diploma or equivalent
• Experience with working with seniors
• Excellent communication skills. Able to interact professionally with all levels of internal and external personnel
• Must possess and maintain a safe driving record
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Have a Strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment for passengers, clients, and the public
• Willingness to be flexible and available to work occasional evenings and weekends as required for special events
• Willingness to perform job tasks not part of immediate job responsibilities but aides in member satisfaction and getting the job done

Responsibilities

• Operate assigned vehicle in a safe and courteous manner
• Assist passengers, including handicapped, in and out of the vehicle
• Read and interpret maps provided by supervisor or use GPS on phone to plan the most efficient route service for participants
• Keep the assigned vehicle(s) clean inside and outside
• Responsible for ensuring the vehicle(s) gas is always full and that vehicle maintenance is completed
• Check in with transportation scheduler daily
• Report to appropriate staff any concerns regarding participants
• Report vehicle issues to supervisor
• Facilitate casual conversations with clients
