Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Idaho State RN License.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians and other health care team members.
  • Ability to manage a team and work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Familiar with computer systems and able to adapt with developing technology.
  • Strong IV starting skills.
  • Knowledge of growth and developmental needs of patients and families.
  • Ability to recognize and respond to the behaviors of patients and families in each age category.
  • Ability to demonstrate the special skills required to care for patients and their families according to standards.

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS, and PALS preferred.
  • Previous acute care or infusion center experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and directs the care of patients across all ages and diagnosis with a diverse range of infusion services.
  • Serves as the primary nurse leading the collaboration of all disciplines to provide well-coordinated patient care.
  • Evaluates, plans, implements and documents nursing care for patients in need of intravenous treatments or cellular therapeutic procedures.
  • Determines and appropriately cannulates venipuncture sites in order to administer intravenous therapy treatments.
  • Assists with obtaining insurance authorizations when needed.
  • Provides information to patients and families regarding intravenous therapy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
