IV Therapy/Chemo Therapy - Staff Nurse

Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Idaho State RN License.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians and other health care team members.
- Ability to manage a team and work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- Familiar with computer systems and able to adapt with developing technology.
- Strong IV starting skills.
- Knowledge of growth and developmental needs of patients and families.
- Ability to recognize and respond to the behaviors of patients and families in each age category.
- Ability to demonstrate the special skills required to care for patients and their families according to standards.
Nice To Haves
- ACLS, and PALS preferred.
- Previous acute care or infusion center experience highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Oversees and directs the care of patients across all ages and diagnosis with a diverse range of infusion services.
- Serves as the primary nurse leading the collaboration of all disciplines to provide well-coordinated patient care.
- Evaluates, plans, implements and documents nursing care for patients in need of intravenous treatments or cellular therapeutic procedures.
- Determines and appropriately cannulates venipuncture sites in order to administer intravenous therapy treatments.
- Assists with obtaining insurance authorizations when needed.
- Provides information to patients and families regarding intravenous therapy.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
